This course adds the scientific disciplines of ecology and plant science to the creative discipline of landscape design. It is ideal for those who have a strong interest in the environment as well as landscape design. The course is taught jointly with the Department of Animal and Plant Sciences, a National Centre of Excellence for ecology. The course, in combination with a diploma year, is fully accredited by the Landscape Institute. Much of the work is project-based and takes place in six fully-equipped studios. The latest techniques in computer-aided design are an important part of the course. Students have access to extensive computing facilities and to the Geography, Planning and Landscape libraries to supplement the main University library. The course leads students on to a Diploma in Landscape Architecture or Management. This course (including Diploma year) is fully accredited by the Landscape Institute.
